Most governmental agencies have various levels of appeal procedures. If you have been audited or reviewed by one of these agencies, the next level is to use their internal, appeals process.
It's been our experience that you usually get an honest hearing at the appeals level. Often it is the least expensive way to have "your day in court." You usually must exhaust all the internal remedies before you can sue in court.
Sometimes you cannot get the agency to see things your way. It may be necessary to take your case to court. We may be able to help you with this, depending on the type and amount of tax due.
